Brief history of the group:

The research group EIGI (from Spanish for Invasive Species: Interinsular Research Group) was created at the beginning of 2002 with the idea to encourage studies concerning the biology and ecology of invasive species in island ecosystems which are extremely sensitive to such invasions. There are different research groups working with invasive species in the Canarian Archipelago, and one of the main objectives of EIGI is to list all the publications from this field to help other researchers in the future use previous information in the design of new experiments.
